Unable to connect HP Spectre x360 13 to Omen Accelerator

Since it's an ae0xx model, I wouldn't expect it too.

Incompatibilit issue on spectre x360 ae0xxx was fixed by new firmware.

install the  "OMEN Accelerator Firmware Update" softpaq SP85343.exe, install this firmware on OMEN accelerator.

Connect OMEN accelerator to host PC, make sure host PC recognize OMEN accelerator as thunderbolt 3 device, and then run this softpaq.

If you don't have worked host PC (for example just HP Spectre x360 ae0xxx), you can contact HP serivce for support.

this new firmware already cut in OMEN accelerator product from end of 2017 December. So no this issue on new OMEN accelerator with spectre x360 ae0xxx.

Hey!

Tried to install that firmware by useing an computer who is compatible with the accelerator, still no use; error message; the firmware did not install correctly, contact hp for support.

Calle HP trying to explain what I was atempting to do, wich he respons with; it will not work, which I ask "So you´re saying the spectre x360 ae005no will never work with the hp accelerator?", wich he respons "No, it will never work together cause the computer aint comaptible with it"...

Workaround? Can we somehow fix this or is the guy right?

I got it to work.

The sp85343.exe need to edited.

In the file you have 02_Update, right click edit and delete :usbupdate (everything between that and the next :(name).

Run the program, let it be connected for 10 minutes. Then disconnect the host pc and the accelerator for 1 hour. Then connect the accelerator with the computer you want to. Problem is still that you need another computer to make it work. Or you need an usb hub cpnnected between the accelerator and the computer..

 i don't think it will work this way (edit the .bat script). I have tried this and it will just skip detection of the firmware version but will not update the firmware anyway. If the device is not detected, it will not get UUID and tool could not pass the firmware to the accelerator unit.

I have used another Lenovo Yoga 370 ntbk (Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 370 Black, 20JH002KMC) to update the omen firmware. I have to update it twice to have it detected by Spectre (ae012nc model).

It works great with Spectre x360 ae012nc model now.
