Hello. Can I buy a USB adapter for the X200 computer mouse separately? I accidentally broke my adapter when I opened the computer case.

I found a Link-5 adapter for sale at a local flea market. Will I be able to connect my X200 mouse to the Link-5 adapter?

I bought the X200 computer mouse officially in the store. When I try to register this product, the HP website says that the serial number is incorrect. I am attaching a photo of the mouse I bought, the adapter I broke, the receipt and the packaging. I really hope that the support service will not ignore my questions and will give answers to them.

Hi @DriverFirst,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
Unfortunately, the HP X200 wireless mouse comes pre-paired with its original 2.4GHz USB receiver, and HP does not sell replacement receivers separately. The mouse cannot be re-paired to a different adapter, including the HP Link-5 adapter, since the X200 does not support Link-5 technology.
Consider a new wireless mouse
- If you can’t find an original adapter, your best option is to buy a new HP X200 mouse or another HP model.
Use a Bluetooth mouse (if your laptop supports it)
- If your computer has Bluetooth, switching to a Bluetooth mouse will eliminate the need for a USB adapter altogether.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @DriverFirst
I am afraid it wont work as they are coded to each other, as they are unique to each other like a key to the car. Cant swap with another one with the same make and model.
The only other option is to buy a new one altogether.
