What is your hp pavilion gaming laptop 15 dk0xxx ?  How do you connect them ? I don't know what it it but I believe it has USB one HDMI 2.0 port therefore you should be able to connect to a FHD monitor with 120Hz. With 144Hz, you may not get 1920 x 1080 resolution.

It may also have USB 3.1 Type-C Gen. 2 port but I'm not sure what you can do (monitor) with it.

Regards.
