What was the CPU model you replaced it with?

@USER20221024182,

Your Erica6 motherboard (SSID: 8906) has the Intel Chipset B550A.

The Ryzen 5 1600 AF is compatible with all 300 and 400-series consumer chipsets, and the X570 500-series chipset and uses the Zen+ (Pinnacle Ridge) architecture with Socket AM4.

The Ryzen 7 5700G which we know is compatible with your motherboard, is compatible with chipsets X470, B450, and X370 and uses the Zen 3 (Cezanne) architecture with Socket AM4.

The point is, that theoretically the Ryzen 5 1600 AF should be compatible, that is, if HP provided a BIOS patch to make that happen.  I don't think there is.

Why are you interested in an AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF as the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is a much better and faster processor: UserBenchmark: AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF vs 7 5700G?

Also, the AMD processor of choice amongst your fellow AMD/PC platform enthusiasts, happens to be the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G: UserBenchmark: HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2xxx Compatible Components, and no one used or was able to use an AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF.

Therefore, the answer to your question is most likely that the AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF is not compatible with your desktop.

Kind Regards,

yes that is what it says here
the processor is not compatible with this motherboard, the compatibility list given by hp is very minimal, but that is what is supposed to be tested, validated by hp
Another compatible processor could work, but there is no guarantee, hp very rarely develops new bios, for compatibility of different processors
