690-0013w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey folks,

Almost 2 years ago my old pc died on me and I needed to get up and running again ASAP so I bought a prebuilt (HP 690-0013w). This coming tax season I plan to upgrade my system keeping pretty much just the cpu and storage devices. The computer has been "ok" but with one very glaring issue. No matter how I try I cannot fully disable the onboard graphics and the pc still reserves 2gb ram for it. For now until I upgrade I want to figure out how to recover those 2gb.

I have tried disabling/uninstalling it in the device manager. Upgraded my bios directly from the HP support site and Set the GTX 1050 as the primary device in the bios. Unfortunately as far as I can tell that is the only options in the bios to do with the graphics.

I personally cannot think of what else to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. By disabling playready support I was able to free up one gig of the two that was system reserved. I will keep plugging away to see if I can get my other gig back.
