Added 16gb RAM and it is now showing as 2400 MT/s rather than 3200 MT/s

Hi all,

I purchased two 8gb sticks of the below memory, at a 3200 MT/s speed variant: FURY Kingston FURY™ DDR4 RGB Memory – 8GB-128GB 2666MT/s-3733MT/s - Kingston Technology

I was hoping that as it is exactly the same aesthetically as the 16gb of HyperX Beast memory included in the 45L, that it would be compatible.

Before I installed the additional RAM, the speed of the included RAM was at 3200 MT/s, but now with 4 sticks it is showing at 2400 MT/s.

Can my BIOS settings be amended to bring this back up to 3200 MT/s (or even to 3733 MT/s)? Is that possible?

Please let me know if more information is required.

Welcome to the Omen universe of RAM-speed issues.  HP does not allow any XMP profile enabling.  However, if you haven't tried it yet, please take a look at this guide on HP's OCC (Omen Command Center), as perhaps this may (partially) speed up your RAM: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_3912817-3737596-16.
