Product: OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-en1000 (2L1F2AV)

I was using my Hp omen 15-en1007na earlier today when during my work my charger let out an ear piercing bang. It started to smoke and burned a hole in my laptop sleeve. 

I have ordered the replacement charger but I’m worried that the power surge could have damaged my laptop. The laptop worked fine up until it died. Could the charging port / battery / or circuit have been damaged? Or is this an unlikely scenario?
