Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I tried a Samsung 970 PRO 1TB but it didn't work well with selected programs. Was fast and did work with most programs.

Solution - Clean Win 10 Install

I decided to try a clean install because I found some other software related issues. After the clean install and update of Win 10 the Samsung 970Pro is working with no software or hardware issues. I loaded my software and and checked SSD performance after each product was installed. The software tat had issues in the past are all healed. I am running the stock Win 10 driver for the 970Pro and all is well. I will make an immage of the drive and try the Samsung 970Pro driver. If it goes bad I can always flush the driver or recover the drive.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

The Samsung 970 Pro is one the best NVME SSDs on the market.

What problems were you having?

I have added Windows Media Center 8.1 to Windows 10.  When I go to the TV Server Comper to view recorded TV it takes about 15 seconds to display the information. This only occures when I use the 970 Pro. The original SSD, KBG30ZMV256G, installed gives almost instant Recorded TV Icons in Windows Media Center.  I tried running the 970 Pro with Microsoft and Samsung drivers but still very very slow response.  I can not find any other problems with the 970 Pro, but Windows Media Center is my most used software.  I record HDTV off the air via 2 Dual TV Tuners for up to 4 TV programs at any given times.  Even if the TV server is not recording and no one else is watching recored TV the 970 Pro hasthe same problem.

Hi,

Okay.

That is very strange. I have a 970 EVO. It is very fast.

Is the 970 Pro running at PCIe 3.0x4 speed?

Thre 970 Pro is FAST... Would be a keeper except for the Windows Media Center problem.  I am going to try getting a 1TB made by Toshbia since the made the original M2 SSD.
