Hi @Jhustyne,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your new Omen PC is experiencing issues where it turns on and off immediately when you press the power button, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem. Here are some suggestions.
- Check Power Connections: Ensure that all power cables are securely connected to the PC, including the power cord and any peripheral devices.
- Power Supply Unit (PSU) Issues: Verify that the power supply unit is functioning correctly. Faulty power supplies can cause intermittent power issues. If possible, try using a different power outlet or a known working power supply.
- Hardware Connections: Open the case and check for any loose connections or components. Ensure that the RAM, graphics card, and other components are securely seated in their respective slots.
- BIOS/UEFI Settings: Access the BIOS/UEFI settings during the startup process (usually by pressing a key like Del, F2, or F10) and check if there are any abnormal settings. You can also try resetting the BIOS to default settings.
- Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware: Visit the HP website for your PC or motherboard and check if there are any BIOS/UEFI updates available. Sometimes, firmware updates can address power-related issues.
- Hardware Testing: Perform hardware tests to check for faulty components. Many PCs come with built-in diagnostics tools.
- Power Button Issues: Inspect the power button for any physical damage or malfunctions. Sometimes, a faulty power button can cause erratic behavior.
- Operating System Issues: If the PC manages to stay on but encounters issues during the operating system startup, you might need to troubleshoot the OS itself. Boot into Safe Mode or use system recovery options to diagnose and fix potential software issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
