RAM: DDR 3 8GB

MOTHERBOARD:Manufacturer Foxconn Model 2ABF (SOCKET 0)

CPU: Name Intel Core i5 3470 Package Socket 1155 LGA

SSD 240GB

 

Issue: When I plug the gtx 1050 ti in, it doesnt show any display, the card starts for a second then turns of (repeats couple of times)

No display even if you try the integrated hd 4000. The issue resolves when i unplug the 1050 ti

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@despaired1guy , welcome to the Community.

 

There are two possibilities for the reason the card isn't working: 1) the video card requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS and 2) the video card requires a minimum of 300W to operate properly.  Your power supply unit (PSU) is 300W, but if it is the original it could be degraded enough not to provide appropriate power since the computer was released in 2011/12.  The PSU is the most often replaced component.  You should check to see if the motherboard has UEFI.  You can't upgrade a standard BIOS to UEFI.

 

The integrated video (HD 4000) and the discrete video card (1050 TI) can't be used at the same time.  This is why the integrated video doesn't work until the video card is disconnected.
