Can I Upgrade My Stock AMD Radeon R9 380 4GB GPU?
07-31-2017 06:53 AM

I was wondering wether I could upgrade my GPU that came stock when I bought it. Currently in there I have an AMD Radeon R9 380 4GB. Is it possible to upgrade? Also if you know any other possible upgrade options please let me know.
Thanks

Hi,
You can't upgrade the existing graphics card but you could replace it.
Open up your PC and read the label on the PSU. What is the total wattage? While the PC is open, do some measuring inside and post the maximum length for a different graphics card.
HP Envy 17", i7-8550u,16GB, 512GB NVMe, 4K screen, Windows 10 x64
Custom PC - Z390, i7-9700K, 32GB, dual 512 GB NVMe, dual 512 SSDs, 4K screen, OC'd to 5 Ghz, NVIDIA 2080TI 11GB

It says it cannot exceed 420w not sure if that's good for a gamer or that needs upgrading sometime too. As for the graphics card I looked up the dimensions online as did not have anything to measure with handy. The dimensions are 9.8x12.4 cm. Or so it says on the HP website. Looks perhaps a bit bigger to me but as I said I couldn't tell as I don't have anything to measure with.
Cheers
