I am looking to upgrade from my 2080 to the 40xx series and I wanted to know if I would have any problems (I have already changed my case to accommodate upgrades).

Greetings @SandleBandit

Welcome to the HP Forum.

You can do a 4060 or even a 4070.

You changed the case so space should not be a problem.

You would have to check the HP power supply for wattage and PCIe connections required to power a new graphics card.

The Nvidia reference 2080 requires a minimum 550 watt PSU having: one 6 pin plus one 8 pin PSU connections to power this card. Your PSU should be okay.

I just replaced a 2080 with an Asus dual fan 4070 which requires a 550 watt power supply and one 8 pin PCIe connection. The 4070 is a big improvement. Check this Site for a comparison.

Check Here for a 4060 vs a 2080. Marginal improvements.

I don't think I would spend $300.00 on a 4060 that performs about the same or less when compared to a 2080.

Regards
