Omen 870-224
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Before I ask for your guys help I want to let you know that I have already read through this link. https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-870-200/13687063/model/15741160/document/c05389962

I have a few questions for people that have opened up their 870-224.

Is the PCIe x1 slot available?

I know the PCIe x16 and M.2 are full.

How many Disk Drive bays are there?

From my count there should be one SATA port open on the motherboard.

If the PCIe x1 slot is open what would be a good upgrade for it?

Hi

You can view additional information for the 800-200 series chassis and the Odense2 motherboard at this HP Support site.

Note, you will need Flash to view contents at this HP Support site.

The PCIe x1 slot should be unoccupied.

It looks like there is room for three (3.5 inch or 2.5 inch (with an adapter)) storage devices.

The MB has three SATA ports. Two are occupied (HDD- optical drive).

You can install any compatible device in the unused x1 slot. What upgrade are you looking to do? Sound cards, or M.2 NVME adapters, or network/WIFI cards, or additional SATA port adapters will work.

Thank you for your information Grzwacz. I hadn't come across that site. I am thinking of adding one SSD for sure and upgrading the memory. Again thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
