Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new Omen X 900 desktop, but I cannot run HP Omen Control due to the following error. I have reinstalled this program, but that didn't solve the error.

"HPOMENCMD.exe - System Error

Thev code execution cannot proceed because SynCom.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

The Omen X 900-260xe CTO version you have does not use the Omen COntrol Center. The lights are controlled via the Omen Command Center as you found out.

I would uninstall the Control Center as it will only give you errors.

Hello @RTCarroll

What is the full product number of your new Omen X?

You can find it in the HP Support Assistant.

What exactly are you reinstalling? The Omen Control or the Omen Command Center?

The product number is 2SS03AV.

The OMEN Command Center runs - I changed the color of the lights.

The HP Omen Control does not. I don't know what this does, but trying to run this results in the same error dialog as when I wake-up the screensaver. I'm just trying to eliminate the error dialog.

Thanks so much for the info!

I've tried to uninstall the Omen control twice, but it failed to connect to a server (?). So, I used Modify and removed it.

This should fix my problem.

Once again, thanks!
