Hello. 

 

I own a HP Gaming PC called "Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC 690-0012no".

It's got AMD Ryzen 5 2600 as the CPU, Nvidia GTX 1050 2GB as the gpu and a 310W power supply.

So I was wondering, that if I was to change the GPU to a more powerful one, like GTX 1660-Ti 6GB, what parts would I need to change in the pc for it to function well?

I know that the power supply is too weak, so that's atleast something I'd have to change. What power supplies are suitable for the pc?

The problem is, HP did not intend for those lower cost Pavilions to be up graded like that.

The Power Supply is the problem. Its a proprietary SFF PSU that uses two separate 4 pin power connectors to the board, not the traditional 4 pin + 24 pin connector.

HP only makes an additional 400w and limited 500w SFF PSU. You would need the 500w version, but they are usually not available most of the time. According to HP's Parts Finder, none of the HP SFF PSUs are sold separately by HP in Finland or surrounding countries. I'm not sure what to suggest at this point.
