@isonukumar, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop charger is not working, here are a few steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check the Power Source

  • Ensure the wall outlet is working by plugging in another device.
  • Try a different outlet if needed.

Inspect the Charger and Cable

  • Look for any visible damage (fraying, bent pins, burnt smell).
  • Make sure all connections are secure, the adapter brick, cable, and laptop port.

Try a Hard Reset

Sometimes a power reset can help:

  1. Disconnect the charger.
  2. Shut down the laptop.
  3. Remove the battery (if removable).
  4. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the battery and charger, then power on.

Test with Another HP Charger

If available, try using a compatible HP charger to see if the laptop charges. This helps isolate whether the issue is with the charger or the laptop.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

HP provides a built-in tool to check hardware issues:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Turn it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Select Component Tests > Power to check the battery and adapter.

Check for BIOS Updates

Sometimes a BIOS update can improve power management:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
