Hi there @OBAIDULLAH1, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

The error you're seeing “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart” typically indicates a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) caused by hardware or driver issues, corrupted system files, or recent Windows updates.

Let’s walk through some steps to diagnose and resolve this:

Step 1: Boot into Safe Mode

Safe Mode loads Windows with minimal drivers and can help isolate the issue.

  1. Turn off the PC completely.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press F8 or Shift + F8 repeatedly (older systems) or interrupt boot 3 times to trigger Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
  3. In WinRE, go to:
    • Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart
    • Then choose Safe Mode with Networking.

Step 2: Check for Recent Changes

If the issue started after a Windows update, driver install, or new software:

  • In Safe Mode, go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program and remove any suspicious or recent installs.
  • Roll back any recent driver updates via Device Manager.

Step 3: Run System File Checker

Corrupted system files can cause BSOD loops.

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Type:sfc /scannow
  3. Let it complete and follow any repair instructions.

Step 4: Perform System Restore

If Safe Mode works, you can restore your PC to a previous working state.

  • Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore
  • Choose a restore point before the issue started.

Step 5: Reset Windows (if needed)

If none of the above works, you may need to reset Windows while keeping your files:

  • In WinRE, go to:
    • Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Keep my files

If the suggestions helped solve the problem, please let us know by clicking “Accepted Solution.” It really helps fellow users find quick answers.

A quick “Yes” also goes a long way in showing appreciation!

Take care and happy computing!

Best regards,

Max3Aj
