I have an HP pavilion which is considered a gaming laptop. However I had this PC for 5 yrs and it keeps this weird noise before start up. I sounds like a fan. I received a message stating it is the cooling fan. My Questions are, Should I replace the fan? Or simply get a new laptop?

Greetings @T412

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Consider replacing the fan, if the fan is failing and you otherwise enjoy using this PC.

Advances in newer PC component options will generally provide a better computing experience.

Plus you would have to weigh the difference in the cost incurred to fix the fan vs buying a new PC.

It' your decision.

Regards
