Hi, will my machine, an Omen Ryzen 1700 Desktop, run DDR4 3000 or 3200 or will it default down to 2400 which is my current RAM's speed.

Also is there any other method to adjust RAM timings since HP doesn't seem to allow that in the BIOS?

Ah, an aficionado of all things Stern Im guessing?

As far as your Omen ram speed goes, Nope there is nothing you can do to overclock memory. Its purposely setup this way.

No third party software that I know of either. If you do install 3200 for example, it will get down clocked to 2400 or sometimes even less if the bios doesn't like the memory controller (reverts to the SPD fail safe speed). I've seen some cases where the high speed memory wont even get recognized.

Sorry.

Reading your previous posts I guess you decided to not try a motherboard upgrade? It would be really difficult considering the lighting and rear IO shield and I don't know of anyone who successfully done it.
