DDR4 3000hz will it work if motherboard Supports PC4-19200 (DDR4-2400) ?

Hey guys 🙂 So I have hp OMEN 880-119NO desktop and I want to replace the ddr4 8gb with 16gb but the good deals are on ddr4 3000hz and the motherboard states Supports PC4-19200 (DDR4-2400) so the question is will a PC4-24000 3000hz just work at the motherboard max 2400hz or will it not even work ?
I plan to buy that 3000hz ram to have it for future builds because I will eventualy upgrade to i7 8700k and maybe swap the motherboard for a RGB if I can just use it at 2400hz until then it would be greate.
Thanx.

Sorry to say, upgrade to K processors won't work UNLESS HP does some reworks but I don't think HP would do, HP will release new machines later. At this stage it has
Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
Intel Core i7-7700 (Kabylake) 3.6 GHz Quad Core 65 W
Intel Core i5-7400 (Kabylake) 3.0 GHz Quad Core 65 W
For RAM, it supports 32GB max:
- Four DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets
- Supports PC4-19200 (DRR4-2400)
- Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR4 UDIMMs
With 3000Hz, it
(a) May not work at all,
(b) May work but will be downgradeed back to 2400GHz, no point to spend money to get nothing.
Hope this makes sense.
Regards.

Thanx for the reply 🙂 The thing is a 2400hz cl 17 is same price as a 3000hz cl15 where I am from so I dont want to buy 8gb weak ram to make 16 I wanted to buy 2x8gb faster ram.
Also I cant find the same 8GB ram that the desktop came with in any store here ...I will just try the Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000hz and see if it works at 2400 but yea now that I look at the MB its real weak.

Just checked the model specs and it can upgrade to K CPUs
- TDP: up to 95 W
- Socket type: LGA 1151
- Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
- Intel Core i7-8700K (Coffeelake) 3.7 GHz, 6 Cores
- intel Core i7-8700 (Coffeelake) 3.7 GHz, 6 Cores
- Intel Core i5-8400 (Coffeelake) 2.8 GHz, 6 Cores
So the problem is the DDR4 because if it wont atleast work at 2400hz then I just need a new MB and a new tower to get a real improvement.

Ok, there are 2 versions, the first one dated 23-Jun-2017 and the second one dated 6-3-2017. The first one uses Intel Gen 7 CPU's (I saw this one first).
https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05561774
and the second one uses Intel Gen 8 CPU's.

As mentioned on my Reply above "UNLESS HP does some reworks but I don't think HP would do, HP will release new machines later."
Now, what is the CPU on your computer now ? 7xxx or 8xxx ? If 8xxx you can use K processor otherwise. New BIOS would help.
At the end of the day, you still can't use 3000Hz RAM.
Regards.
