Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I inserted a DVD movie in the drive which is installed vertically.

Unfortunately the disk moved as I was pushing the drive back in. Now the disk does not read and the door does not want to open.

What should I do ? If I open the machine are there any screws who will let me open the top and remove the DVD ? The retailer is closed due to the Covid-19.

@Yves_M , welcome to the forum.

Here is the Upgrading and Servicing Guide for the computer:  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05934592

Here is another guide provided by HP:  https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-gaming-690-0000-pc-series/19769765/model/21858492/d...

Beginning on Page 10 are instructions on how to remove the CD/DVD drive.  Once you have the drive removed, you may find that the disk is actually inside of the case and not in the drive.  This sometimes happens.  Please let me know if you need further help.

It worked … the difficult part was removing the cover

@Yves_M, I am glad that you solved your problem.  Thank you for letting me know.  Now, make certain in the future that the disk is seated properly before closing the drive.  😉
