Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

Please provide a specific HP Product Number for better assistance. The Forum need to know your MB specs.

 

Some HP MBs are very finicky with RAM, the PC may not POST when using certain brands of RAM. Some HP MBs will run certain brands of RAM at JEDEC speeds and timings only.

 

Have you tried only HP memory in the DIMM 2 slot?

 

It is also possible you may have a bad stick of new memory or the MB memory slot has a problem.

 

It is usually good to do memory upgrades using memory kits (same memory manufacture and same production batch).
