Hello, I just bought a new gaming desktop and wanted to add an internal hard drive to have more space. But I don't know if by doing this I will lose my warranty.

HP PCs - Damage Not Covered by the HP Standard Limited Warranty | HP® Customer Support

Generally, you can do whatever you want, as long as you don't damage the computer, or any parts.
Hp also gives advice to keep your computer in good working order / clean!

But indeed, if by handling the computer, you make a mistake, HP may believe that it is your fault, and will void the warranty.
For any addition / replacement, you must reinstall everything in case of problem if you have to return the computer, so you must keep what can be removed

@Darth1

Warranty is a grey/gray area very hard to say in concrete. For new generation machines, adding something is a work for Authorized Service Provider parts . You can add yourself. If something went wrong due to this upgrade, I think HP would not honor warranty.

Hope this makes sense.

Regards.

Thank you for your reply, but I have a last question. Do you think that opening the case to clean the fans from dirt can affect the warranty (it may be a dumb question but honestly I don't know)?
