Greetings @wiry09

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Your PC's gaming problem is a tough one to solve; too many variables.

I don't believe your PC has a thermal problem since the precipitous drop in FPS seems to be temporary. The PC's performance seems to bounce up and down per your problem description.

You could try the tips at this HP Forum link to test: CPU and GPU performance and stability. Memory also play a role in getting good gaming performance.

You could check all system temps and other component metrics using HWiNFO portable (free) available at this Site.

I'm sure you are using the latest graphics driver.

Does your PC have a lot of processes running in Task Manager? How many Startup Items in Task Manager?

Try disabling all of the Windows Xbox stuff in Settings>Gaming.

Have you tried posting your PC's problem description in any gaming Forums?

Again, it very difficult to pinpoint erratic gaming performance.

Regards
