Hi, posting an update and a Thank You, I retried these steps today, after having the error message 30-not found.

I moved the bin file into the AFU folder and it worked a treat, the computer is up and running again, if anyone else follows the steps put your BIOS bin file inside the AFU folder, I had put it in the flash drive's main directory and that's why it didn't work.

Thanks again.

Hello i followed this process to fix the BIOS issue. When the update process complete and computer rebooting, the computer is just producing beeping sounds like 8 of them and the power button flashes followed by 3 short beeps again and nothing happens. No screen display. How do i fix this and get back to install Windows 10 64 bit?

have somebody addressed this issue? I’m having the same problem.

HI @Retro_00

I have verified @pcgraphix 's instructions work.

Your PC may have an additional problem. Check HP Desktop BIOS error codes here https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1997210-1528385-16

I don't see an 8 beep or 8 LED flash error code so I would have no idea what this error code indicates. There is a 3:5 error code (cannot detect processor) and a 5:3 error code ( generic component cannot be reached by the BIOS within the established time limit).

It might be good to have a local PC technician check your PC.

The optional HP firmware update 15.57.0.0 offered by Windows Update should be avoided after flashing the older BIOS version/ reinstalling Windows.

Hey, I didn't know that and now my pc is stuck on the bios update failed page and i cannot get into windows nor any other bios menu.
I start the pc and straight up goes to that update failed page.
I tried making a recovery bios usb with the correct firmware but i cannot get it to flash.
I also tried to clear the cmos
I'm now completly stuck and don't know what to do

I’ve tried the steps you wrote about and can’t seem to get them to work. Has anyone else had an issue this is the message that I get trying to follow the steps. Error file size does not match existing bios.OOPS  turns out I was using the wrong bios.  but I only see the bios driver that caused this whole bricking of my pc, to begin with. any idea where to get the previous bio  fF.55 for 8433

Hi, did you copy the zipped AFU folder to the flash drive or did you click in to that folder to move the unzipped AFU folder onto the drive, a google search for that error mentions that the folder must be unzipped.

I went to the HP Software and Driver support page to get my BIOS update.

yes,  I followed all the correct steps but it seems I was using the bios for 8436 which is wrong, mine is the 8433 , that is what is displayed on bios screen, and I don't see an older firmware available. on the HP website. well, at least that is what I think the issue is. so not really sure what to do at this point. when I enter my serial number these are my two options

The 2nd option, The 8436 one, is version F.34, that's the one you need, did you try a BIOS reset by turning off the machine, holding down the windows logo and b or v key, while holding those buttons hold the power button for 2-3 seconds and then releasing the win and v keys when you hear the computer beeping?
