Frequent freezing, crashes, shut downs/restarts and hangs accompanied by sound similar to system startup. Significantly worse when playing video, gaming, or video streaming to the point where now it may restart the PC. Sound ranges from the startup sound (sorry, I don't know how to describe this? Like the PC is booting up?), fans going into high speed, to loud electronic buzzing (usually goes hand in hand with severe freeze or restart).
This has been happening for a very long time and I have tried several fixes in the past (i.e. updating drivers, uninstalling video drivers and reinstalling latest, checking video card connections) with no success. The freeze and sound lasts from 1 to several seconds and is getting progressively more frequent and worse, to the point where now it can black screen and restart my PC. Appears to happen mostly while playing video or gaming, but may also happen while internet browsing or working in desktop files...and writing up this post (sighs).
This PC's warrenty is up in February, so no more time to procrastinate, time to get this fixed. Sincerely hoping you can help. Oh, and detailed advice please, I'm not an expert in these things 🙂

@silversong , welcome to the Community.
These symptoms could be caused by several components, PSU, memory or processor. Since your warranty is going to expire soon, I suggest that you contact HP Customer Support for help. I could run you through a lot of troubleshooting without success. I believe a component is failing and don't want you to have to replace it.
