I suspect that my NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 Ti overheats when under a heavy graphical load. The displays will go to black screen without warning and the fans will ramp up to max RPMs. I've tried manually adjusting the fan speed ramp against the rising temperature but it hasn't helped. Even lowering my graphics doesn't stop this from happening.

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
The internal airflow in the HP XXL gaming desktops is poorly designed. You should add cooling fans to your PC.
Here is a YouTube video showing a 30L improved cooling fan config, something to think about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IK4WKnfQrZ0&ab_channel=KurtWorkman.
