Games are lagging on and off

Omen Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I've been having a problem with lag. My games are lagging every single time I launch into a game. Whether it be Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2, or GTA 5. Nothing else is lagging on my pc except for my games, what could this be?

@Scripted , welcome to the forum.

 

What is the full model of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information.

I have now noticed that all games are lagging whether it be browser games that require a connection or main games like Rainbow Six Siege

Thank you for the additional information, @Scripted!  However, I need the numbers/letters where the xxx are in the model.  This is the only way I can review the specifications.

I do not know where to find the numbers. Whenever I do CTRL+ALT+S the x's are there

@Scripted, okay, provide the Product Number.  Open HP Support Assistant and it can be found at the bottom of the page.

Thank you for the additional information, @Scripted!  This is exactly what I needed.

The only other suggestion that I have is, make certain that you have installed all of the patches/upgrades for the games.  If you play on Steam this is done for you, but on games you install on your computer you have to search for the patches.  I have had a lot of problems with this over the years.

It could simply be that you have other programs in the background updating that are causing lag. Definitely check task manager when games are running to see what uses memory/ram and etc.
