HP Omen 25L
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Omen only turns on for a few seconds then goes black screen and the fans on the HP 2060 gpu run at 100%. I’ve called HP and they said I’m out of warranty then hung up on me. What do I do for my nephew who stands to loose $1500 only after 6 months of use

@User04152022,

As a fellow user, I am sorry for your frustration. Perhaps you want to try the steps as outlined by @Lil_Boy_Blue in this thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/HP-Omen-laptop-will-turn-on-but-stuck-on-a-black-scre....

Another option would be to take your Omen to a local PC service/repair shop and pay them the troubleshooting fee to diagnose what's going on.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Kind Regards,

Kinda need more info, it could be a multitude of things. Also really strange to hear that your nephew would be out of warranty if the device is only 6 months old.
It would probably be best to find a local knowledgeable  pc-repair store.

When you say it only turns on for a few seconds, does that mean you can get into Windows Recovery and try it's options?
There could also be the case of a failing component, which might take a professional to track down.
Perhaps a manual BIOS update or a driver update (done by your nephew or sometimes automatically) could be the culprit.

The fact that the fans on the GPU are acting up could be an indicator of a fault in that area, but unless you have other components to switch them out it's kind of hard to troubleshoot unless I'm mistaken.

First you should check
if the computer is less than a year old, it is guaranteed
the only possibility is to buy a refurbished computer, you have to see the reseller
Hoping it's not too late, if the computer is under warranty, no one but hp should fix it, you shouldn't have to pay anything, if it's a hardware failure, and the ' user, is not responsible
check warranty status if not correct make a claim try to sort this out..
and/or contact hp again
