Hi

I have a NEW Cooling Pump system.    Anything I need other than the Pump/Radiator   and  the Fan ??   Do I need any heatsink paste???  any tips or is it a cut and dried R&R?

It may not be a cut and dried R&R procedure.

Did you buy a identical HP replacement unit? You may have some pump connection problems or fan/radiator size problems with retail AIO Liquid Cooling systems (AIO LCSs).

The service procedure for this task can be reviewed at HP's Services Media Library (Link). You need Flash to view the videos.

Select "Desktops & Workstations", "HP Envy Desktop PCs", 810-300 series.

Select "Service Procedures". Then select "Liquid Cooling Unit" Enable flash to watch the video.

Some retail AIO LCSs come with thermal paste applied to the pump. Some retail AIO LCSs require a USB 2.0 connection on the motherboard to talk to the software required to control pump and fan speeds. Some also require a SATA power connection to power the pump.

The pump/radiator are all in one  OEM parts.  Do I need to get behind the motherboard?   Use heat paste??  I can not find a video on this replacement.   If it is unscrew,  clean,  add paste, screw back, install radiartor,  then the fan. I can do that. If I have to take the MB out,  I really don't want to mess withtheir crapily put together case.....

HP is USELESS on this subject. My reply fron HP is that my comupter is out of support.  SERIOUSLY  it is not even 4 years old

I have not gotten good info off this site either.

Basic answers from someone in the know will help.

Hi,

I gave you a link (my first response) which has video, audio, and written instructions detailing the service procedure.

Getting behind the MB depends on whether you are replacing an existing AIO system or installing this system from scratch.

You need a backplate to attach the pump.

TIM applied to the CPU depends on whether the new water block has pre applied thermal paste.

Problem solved. The Heat Sink had the paste on it.   Easy off easy on.
