Finally, I published all the source codes into the github: https://github.com/kb2288/amd-gpu

The "release" version is here: https://github.com/kb2288/amd-gpu/releases/tag/1.0a

HP SUPPORT TEAM, PLEASE DON'T REMOVE THE LINK.

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT TEMPORARILY. IT KEEPS CONSTANT LOAD ON THE GPU RX6600m. THE DESCRIPTION IS INSIDE OF THE THREAD.

@Ngmr,

Feel free to modify it as you wish. Don't think we need to do some improvements, cos this is still not a solution at all, but just stops all the "black artifacts" temporarily.

@arkadiy915

Tbh, I use blender just to draw some tiny things for my 3D printer. But the AMD GPU seems to be very documented and reliable. At lease from how it works. I did upload the sources with the released binaries. So, feel free to either build yourself or run the release application.

One more update from my side:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/omen-16.1-inch-gaming-laptop-pc-16-c0000/...

As it says in Revision History ,

Version: F.03 Rev.A

- Updates the DC mode power control table on systems with the AMD dGPU.

So, I believe they just screwed the GPU voltage table in future releases.

And this just simply proves that they had lots of issues with AMD GPU in past, just cos they don't know how to tweak it. And the tunning is blocked for the "m" cards.

Has this latest patch fixed the issue? I am looking to purchase a new Laptop and the HP with the 6600M looks good, but I would want to run an external monitor, so I might just avoid the 6600M altogether and go for the Lenovo Legion with the RTX3060

Looks like they are not going to fix anything. So if you have option to buy anything else (not from HP), go for it. Also, they have broken the HP Omen 15 BIOS F16 😂. New update makes makes the screen black! It becomes unusable 😂  Also the firmware most of the time is not down-gradable, so you can't make a usb stick with the oldest BIOS. At least, we don't have "UPDATES" from HP for month or so, and it makes it at least usable.

I have to thank hp for finally solving my case. They replaced my laptop with a different model, I found it acceptable. I don't understand how that OMEN with AMD has passed the quality controls. There are quality and technical service departments that resolve these cases for a reason. I can't be happy with the deadline and all the claims I've had to make to prove such video inconsistency, yet the trade they offer me on a laptop makes up for the trouble I've had. In my case I use the external monitor a lot and this failure is inexcusable for not asking for a return or exchange. Thank you HP.

@Ngmr, so which model do you have now?

HP Recommended

Equivalent in power to amd, but with last intel / nvidia technology.

MODS, please, move this thread to a Gaming Notebooks section (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/bd-p/GamingNotebooks). Thanks!

Same price or you needed to pay more/less? What model did you specifically replace it with?
