HP OMEN 30L GT13-1012ns SSD
06-20-2022 06:43 AM

Hi everybody.
I asked this question a few month ago but nobody answered me, so i'm going to try again.
I have a question about the OMEN 30L GT13-1012NS.
I am thinking of buying this PC but I don't know if the 2TB SSD of this model is GEN3 or GEN4.
What type of SSD it is?

Yeah I have read that in the product page.
But it's strange because, on the one hand, the PC is compatible with GEN 4 SSDs
And, on the other hand, I have read this post asking about a similar issue, and the solution says that these models are equiped with GEN 4 SSDs.
This is the post:

I understand, but I have to take a closer look
You have given me here, a precise model
of this model, I looked, the product page, with the motherboard model in place
in the answer, it is not mentioned the model precisely
"It has 2 slots for M.2 NVMe SSD drives. Looks like this first slot uses interface: PCIe-4x4 and the second slot uses SSD card PCIe x4 Gen 3. The note says
the expert answers " it seems "
and I don't know where he looked at the info
"The first slot uses"
there I just based myself, and wrote what is in your model It's different !
I don't know if I would find better here, but I can't tell you the opposite, with what is said for your model!
I'll come back if I find something else!
[edit ] some models that can be found from the given page (same motherboard as you) OasisOC
You can check others
(2) M.2 socket 3, key M (one for SSD card PCIe Gen 3.0 x4)
WD_BLACK 1 TB PCIe NVMe TLC Solid-State Drive
Size: 1 TB
Interface: PCIe Gen 3.0
Interface: PCIe Gen 3.0
Ok, but this one , indeed
WD_BLACK 1 TB PCIe NVMe TLC Solid-State Drive
Size: 1 TB
Interface: PCIe Gen 4.0 x4
Form Factor: M.2 2280
Type: TLC Solid-State
See if you have others, but here, for me it does not confirm anything
You can install a gen 4, but maybe it only works in gen 3, you know what I mean?
I advise you to contact the HP store, maybe they will be able to answer, but I do not prefer to go ahead and tell you something stupid, the documents here do not allow me to affirm anything
