Hi,

I have been stuck with this fan problem for 1 year now. A year that my pc makes terrible noises every time I use it. Just by turning it on, it easily rises to 45/50 dB by doing nothing. Sometimes I just light up a web page, but the fan launches to the max.

What I have already done (and which does not work):

- send the pc back to HP

- change the power supply mode "active" to "passive"

- change the power supply mode to "normal" instead of "optimal performance".

This is really depressing me because hp has not offered me any solution that has worked for all this time. I hope someone can help me here ...

That is normal, it will slow down after 20secs.  That is one way system checks its components to make sure its fans are working.

I don't know this is good, bad or ugly but few months back (older BIOS) did not have this function.

Regards.

Is there any way to remove it without impacts ? I don't think it's useful since I know my fans are working correctly.
