So my Omen 25L GT15 seems to have died.
I have checked the PSU with a working one, and it still does not show any signs of life. Have tried different power cables, reseating the ram and GPU, removing the CMOS battery overnight and reinstalling the next day.
My initial thoughts now are that the main board has failed, and unfortunately I'm outside the warranty period. My searches for a m81916-002 board have been fruitless so far, and was wondering if a GT21 board would serve as a replacement? Or could I buy a decent MATX B550 board to replace it? This would be considerably cheaper that the £240 plus I have seen for the GT21 motherboard.

Greetings @Asad76
Welcome to the HP Forum.
It sounds like you connected a known good PSU to the PC to check for a good POST to no avail.
Did you reduce the MB to a minimum config?
A minimum config would be the CPU, one stick of RAM, and onboard graphics if the CPU and HP MB rear I/O supports this. Or you would have to try a different, known good, graphics card.
Try each factory memory module in each memory slot. And it is also advised to try a different, known good, compatible memory stick in each memory slot.
One of the base components needed to start the PC has a problem if the PC will not POST in a minimum configuration.
Trying a retail MB (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, or ASRock) may not work with the HP front panel connections, I don't know.
A retail uATX MB should fit and work with the existing MB standoffs in the 25L case.
I would do a different case if you're thinking about doing a retail MB.

Hi,
I tried one stick of ram, and a working GPU to no avail. Have also tried different ram. The only thing I haven't tried is a different CPU as I don't have access to one.
Looks like i will have to shell out on a new case and motherboard to keep testing.
I was still wondering if a GT21 board would allow me to swap over though?

Greetings @Asad76
I don't know if a GT 21 MB would work with the GT 15 case.
The GT 21 MB would have to support the CPU installed in the GT 15 MB.
Both MBs should be uATX MBs so the GT 21 MB should fit in the GT 15 case.
HP likes to modify the front panel I/O wiring and MB pinouts. You would have to take a chance on a used GT 21 MB if you can find one at a decent price.
You should have a local PC Tech check the GT 15 MB and the GT 15 CPU to verify what component has failed.
