Recently, I upgraded my HP OMEN 30L's 120 mm AIO to an OEM HP OMEN RGB 120 mm AIO. Everything works as is, and I've had no performance issues whatsoever (i.e., pump works fine, CPU idles at 40 degrees C, etc.)
However, one issue I did run into was when attempting to control the lighting. For some odd reason, despite uninstalling and reinstalling the OMEN Gaming Hub, the 120 mm RGB AIO stays undetected, and as a result, I cannot change the color. The color remains in its default state (white - pictured below), and I've run out of ideas. Is there any way I could change the RGB AIO color? I've provided additional photos below.
Note: The CN1 cable that is included within the AIO is connected to the representative CN1 cable that came pre-installed within my PC, and that's connected to the RGB unit located at the bottom of the PC. Everything is hooked-up using the headers and cables that HP provided and that are already included in the 30L.

@Sibkea10, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding RGB AIO Lighting Issues with OMEN Gaming Hub!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It looks like you're experiencing issues with the RGB lighting on your HP OMEN 30L after upgrading to the 120 mm OEM HP OMEN RGB AIO. Here are a few steps you can perform to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
Check RGB Connections:
- Ensure that the RGB cables are connected properly to the RGB headers on the motherboard. Sometimes, poor connection can result in hardware being undetected.
Verify RGB Configuration:
- The RGB connections must be routed to the correct pins on the RGB board. Refer to your computer's hardware reference guide to ensure each cable is in its designated location.
Update OMEN Gaming Hub:
- Make sure OMEN Gaming Hub is completely up to date. Sometimes issues arise from using outdated software. You can find updates for OMEN Gaming Hub through the Microsoft Store.
Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub:
- Uninstall and then reinstall the OMEN Gaming Hub. Corrupted files can sometimes cause hardware detection issues. Follow the steps carefully to uninstall and reinstall the application from the Microsoft Store.
Check for System Updates:
- Ensure your system has the latest updates from HP and Windows. Go to the support section of the HP website and see if there are updates or drivers specifically related to RGB and AIO components.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Sometimes BIOS settings can affect hardware detection. Access your BIOS settings and verify that any RGB-related settings are enabled.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

I followed your recommendation; however, I still don't have the ability to control the lighting for my AIO.
Is there anything else I can do? Perhaps there is a download to reconfigure my OMEN to detect the RGB AIO? The connections are all plugged in, and I've disconnected and reconnected them multiple times.

@Sibkea10, Thanks for circling back — I can totally understand how frustrating it must be to see your AIO stuck in that default white glow, especially when the rest of your build looks dialed in.
You’ve clearly done your homework with the connections and software — kudos for being so thorough!
Let’s try a couple more fine-tuned steps to nudge that RGB detection back to life:
1. Check the “HP RGB Lighting Service”
In Task Manager > Services, make sure the OMEN RGB Lighting service is running. If it’s stopped, try right-clicking it and starting it manually.
2. Manually trigger detection
Sometimes the Gaming Hub just needs a little nudge:
Open OMEN Gaming Hub
Go to Lighting > Zones, and toggle between Basic and Advanced modes.
Hit “Apply” even if nothing looks like it changed — this can force a refresh.
3. Update the HP System Event Utility
This small background utility often flies under the radar, but it helps OMEN Gaming Hub communicate with your hardware.
👉 HP Drivers Page > search your PC model > download the latest HP System Event Utility.
4. Use OMEN Light Studio
Since your setup looks newer, OMEN Light Studio (downloadable from Microsoft Store) might detect devices better than the default Gaming Hub lighting tab.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
