HP Omen 870-244 Omen Control problem

Had this PC for a while and never had this problem before but Omen Control isn't working to cut off the backlights anymore (I did a windows update and for some reason it cut the glowing lights back on), when I got the PC to cut them off I just downloaded omen control, switched the drop down menu to off and it worked but recently that stopped working.

I uninstalled Omen Control, now when I try to redownload it the HP Download client won't work but when I try to manually download it, it won't install (I click it, the install runs, and then nothing happens)

Any ideas?

still on windows 10?

I have encountered this same type of problem before.
the only way to reinstall the application was to use this function

Using HP Recovery Manager to restore software and drivers in Windows 10
but maybe not more possible for you?
