Hi, recently I was gifted an Omen 880-068 gaming desktop that comes with a Ryzen 5 1400 cpu, a GT 1030 gpu and a 300w power supply. I wanted to upgrade the graphics card so that I can play more recent games like The Division 2 at 60 fps on decent settings and was told it would require a better power supply. I was going to replace the GT 1030 with a GTX 980 and the power supply with a Corsair GS600 one. I wanted to know if I would be able to do this or if the desktop prevents any upgrades of this type?

Hello @TheCook95
There shouldnt be any issues as far as compatibility for each.
That PSU is 600w and has the two required 6 pin connectors for the 980.
Always measure the inside space with a tape measure to make sure your upgrade will clear before buying. Just a good rule of thumb.
I would uninstall the AMD drivers before installing the 980. Display Driver Uninstaller works well.
Here are a couple of vids, if you think you need them also.

On that note, I cannot predict how that cpu gpu combination will work out for triple A game like the Division 2.
You might get pretty good FPS, but the overall smoothness of game play may not be ideal with that cpu depending on what type of monitor and settings you play at.
Let me know how it goes for you.
Good luck.
