Verify your PC's BIOS family SSID.

From the information I could find, your PC's BIOS SSID is 86D3.

The latest BIOS update for the 86D3 system board ID is this one:

F.17

Note that after this BIOS update is installed, you cannot go back to a previous version.

You can find all of the 86D3 BIOS updates at the link below (under the BIOS - System Firmware (4)) section

It is highly unlikely that updating the BIOS will fix any BT issues.

The parts list for your PC indicates it comes with a Realtek RTL8822 AC Wi-Fi adapter.

These are the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers for the Realtek card:

Wi-Fi:

2024.10.229.1

Bluetooth:

Greetings @Warriorking1

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I don't know how you got a notification to do the F.40 BIOS update; HPSA or a Windows Update?

Check this HP Site showing the F.40 BIOS update.

Scroll down to the revision history. There is no F.10 BIOS version listed.

So, I would not try the F.40 update. Something may be amiss since the F.10 BIOS version is not listed in the BIOS revision history.

So I must find the update that has f.10 in its previous version listed?

The F.40 BIOS update link in my first response should be correct. But it fails.

I am thinking there is a problem with the F.40 BIOS update. All of the ducks are not lining up in a row.

Carry on with the current BIOS version if you can't do the F.40 BIOS update.

Oh okay so it’s not on me this is something that has to be fixed? My current bios version is fine BUT Bluetooth is not too great because of the version that sucks.

Greetings

My pleasure.

I can only suggest trying this HP 2019 Bluetooth driver unless your PC has this version.

Thank you! I will download those drivers to see if that fixes the issue. Do you recommend updating to f.10 to f.17?

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

I don't normally recommend updating the BIOS unless there is something in the current or previous BIOS updates that fix an issue or add an enhancement you want.

There's always a risk with updating a BIOS, so if everything is working fine, I would probably leave things alone, but that's up to you.

Looks like it won’t fix what issue I’m having, the Bluetooth and wifi drivers didn’t fix it either but it’s good to know that it isn’t my BIOS and I don’t need to mess with it.
