HP Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi you guys! I just bought an HP Omen Desktop that comes with Nvidia GeForce 2060.

It's this one: https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/omen-25l-desktop-gt12-0235se

I am trying to connect a monitor using USB-C. (yes, i know it's not optimal).

I have one monitor. I use an Anker USB C hub to connect it to the monitor via HDMI, and a USB dongle for the mouse and keyboard. I switch this USB-C between my work and personal laptops to use the monitor and periferals, and works for me perfectly.

Ideally i would like to plug in the desktop and have everything work. I bought this desktop when I realized that the Oculus won't work with my laptop, so my primary goal is to use it with that; thus monitor performance shouldn't matter (in case someone might say that USB-C is not good, because the Nvidia itself doesn't even have a USB-C port).

When I plug in the USB-C hub (or rather, when i plug the HDMI into the hub), I get an error. Device Manager says "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed) error 43".

Is there anything - anything at all - that i could do to make this work?

Many thanks!

@Bilfrost , welcome to the forum.

Here is an adapter that I use to connect my laptop with USB-C to my HDMI TV and monitor:  https://www.startech.com/en-us/audio-video-products/cdp2hd

I believe it should work with your desktop and your monitor.  I am not certain that this is what you want, but it is a suggestion.
