Omen 875-0014
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Our HP Omen 875-0014 suddenly stopped working. It turns on and the fans in the case, video card, power supply, and all the inside lights come on, but the screen stays black.

We have tried reconnecting everything and using two different monitors (both HDMI and DP) but nothing.

The keyboard usually lights up as soon as the PC powers up but now nothing happens.

Nothing has changed hardware or software-wise. Everything was working last night—this morning it was still on, but the screen was black.

Is there a way to troubleshoot?

hello @TildeZero

I take it you are out of warranty now? 😒

Lets see, its a black screen always. In other words, you cannot even get a bios screen if you tried.  You have tried different monitors and different cables and no joy. You have also re-seated everything including power cables and memory cards, graphics card.

If I got it correct, your next move is going to be the old tried and true "swap parts until you find the culprit". I usually look at the power supply first. I have a second one laying around that I can swap with. Then it could be anything from there. Ram maybe gone bad, video card, etc.

I would first remove the cmos battery for 5 minutes (or use the jumper method) to reset bios. See what happens. NOTE: Unplug the power cord first before doing anything. Or take it into a shop for look-over, if you have an honest one of course.
