HP Support Useless?
05-30-2018 08:35 AM

Hi
So I recently got a HP omen, my first ever pre built rig, been building my own rigs for past 15 or so years. I got such a deal I had to get it.
So to my problem, I upgraded the Bios on the machine thinking it would help since Ryzen is still somewhat new and my fps in Battlefield 1 and Destiny 2 dropped more then 20 on mininal. I tried new drivers settings, no go must be bios. So i tried to downgrade back to my bios the machine shipped with nothing works. I contacted support 4 or 5 times now, there response is remote access or your still getting good fps dont worry.
I told them the error I get trying to downgrade the bios, nothing don't even reply. Let me remote your pc to have a look only way to fix it, or some nonsense. *hp bios update unable to open signature file* is error I get trying to rollback to update to older bios. I got few more days left before the return windows closes, or keep it and buy new mobo and transfer hardware over to a new case.
I tried every bios listed for my Model. Always same error. One agent said I should system restore my pc. The lack of any real bios or anything to fool with is such a pain, no idea why they make it so hard.

@Simplyd2, welcome to the forum.
This is the only BIOS update that is available on HP's website for your motherboard: HP Consumer Desktop PC HIGOS BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 8309). You can only use BIOS's created by HP for their motherboards.
Here is a guide to help you recover your BIOS.
I am not an HP Employee!!

Hi
I tried to recover the bios, but it only reinstalls the bios I currently have again. Nothing changes, tried it maybe a week ago. Forgot to add it to my post.
I know i can only use HP Bios, on a HP machine.
I'm looking to downgrade my Bios to F.04 Rev.A that came with my system. But it seems impossible or the hardware isn't
working correctly.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum.

Welp
Same place as I was when I made this thread. Multiple emails later no response. Been talking to place I purchased the PC. And they told me I can still return said Item. So just aswell to do that. Saying this was lackluster is a understatement.
