Yea, AMD processors have come a long way, and one could make an argument that they have surpassed Intel in some gaming metrics -but not all. Anyway, for me, it is primarily nostalgia why I choose to stick with Intel. I am building a new gaming system around an Intel i9-14900KS (taking my time) and once this rig is completed, this will easily do what I want it to do -but I digress.

 

The same cannot be said about AMD graphics cards, though. Most serious gamers choose Nvidia cards for sheer graphics power/performance, smoothness and fps.

 

The advice you got in that store is subpar at best in my opinion. AMD tries to undersell Nvidia, and if you're on a budget, that may appear an attractive proposition, but don't fall for it.
