OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0280z CTO
Microsoft Windows 11

I've had my omen PC for 4-5 years, I've updated OS to Windows 11.I  am currently regretting visiting HP driver resources site for this desktop, but I went ahead with the windows10 87C3 bios update.  It gave 3 options, update, create a bootable FD, OR copy it. I selected the first option and it restarted the PC to finalize the bios update. After it reboots the HP Bios comes up and writes the update, and finished, it reboots and. I was expecting to see the Omen loading screen but it beeped 8 times and went back to the same bios update rewriting. I tried resetting CMOS with the jumper. I got the same bios update screen rewriting... I removed the CMOS battery for 10 mins and put it back, and I still get the same bios updating screen

I've pre installed the bootable bios on a FD but I dunno how to exit the writing bios update screen so I can select the flash drive.

Help plz

Hi @moettt

Welcome to the HP Forum.

A different forum member is having the same problem using a MB SSID 87C3 BIOS update. Check this Forum thread.

I would contact HP Support per my suggestion provided in the linked thread. EDIT: or have a local PC tech program the BIOS outside of the operating system.

Regards
