@Steelman0325 , welcome to the forum.

What is the Product Number of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information. You can find the Product Number at the bottom of the page when you open HP Support Assistant.

@old_geekster,

Sorry I jumped  in, but that motherboard is on my spreadsheet.

@Steelman0325,

As he said, what is the exact model number of this computer, some shipped with the 180W, some with the 310W.  The HP Sunflower board (found in HP 590 and HP 690 series computers) is powered by an HP proprietary design. It is not an ATX 24 pin unit. Look inside, and follow the cables. There are 2 (2x2) and an inline 7 pin plug.  All drives are powered from the motherboard, not the power supply.   HP only made an 1801W, 310W, 400W, and 500W to fit that cabinet.  Again, an over the counter ATX will never work.    Video of a 500W into an HP 690

The 310W, 400W versions are fine for the RX570.

@hwsense,

And you will guarantee that all 310W units have a PCIe 6+2 power cable?

To include L03980-800,  L10875-800,  L63964-004 and L64961-800 ?

@Steelman0325,

What is the exact model number. The base unit Sunflower shipped with a 180W PSU.  You want to add a 150W GPU card. Your original inquiry was for a 450W. I upped the wattage to 500W.  You could use the 400W with the RX570, as it has some overhead power, and is known to have the PCIe 6+2 plug that is required.

Obviously if the 310W does have the PCI-e it will be enough, but if its a version without, then we can exclude it from the list.

@Steelman0325,

Stick with a known PSU that has the correct PCIe power plug.
