HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have installed two 16gb HyperX Fury DDR4 3600MHz ram into my HP Pavilion Gaming PC, but when I check how fast the ram is in the task manager it says that its only using 2400MHz. I have checked online and everyone tells me I need to change the speed of the ram in the Bios, but when I open my Bios, it wont let me change anything related to the ram, it only lets me view it. I need to know if there is a Bios update I can install or something else that will let me utilize my ram to the fullest and not just a set percentage of it.

@TheMythicalBlob,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E1AV) can be fitted with up to 2 x 32GB of DDR4 PC4-25600, 3200 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, DIMM, 288-pin RAM sticks.

The reason why your 3600 MHz HyperX Fury gaming RAM is stuck at 2400 MHz is most likely because of this RAM's "SPD" (default) RAM speed setting.  Without the ability to enable the XMP profile in BIOS, you'll be stuck with the 2400 MHz RAM speed.  If you can, return this RAM to get your money back, and pick more conventional Crucial or Samsung 3200 MHz RAM (Amazon.com: Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Desktop Memory C...Samsung M378A2G43AB3-CWE 16GB DDR4 3200MHz PC4-25600 1.2V 1Rx8 288-Pin UDIMM Desktop RAM Memory Modu...).

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
