I want to change my case but keep my motherboard. I believe I have a 8B3B motherboard. Is there a case that can make this easy to do? If not is there a PSU that is above 600W that will fit into my stock case?

Greetings @mason00

Welcome to the HP Forum.

it would be much easier for Forum members to assist if you provide your PC's Product number.

Some HP PCs use proprietary: cases, MBs, and power supplies. It would not be possible to move a proprietary HP MB to a standard ATX case.

Okay, your PCs MB seems to be a custom MB ( 29.09 x 20.3 cm(11.45 x 7.99 in) if you have the RenoR MB. Custom HP MBs need HP power supplies and won't fit in a retail ATX case or a retail uATX case.

You might have a HP: Pavilion PC, or an Envy PC, or a Victus PC??

You might be able to do a 650 watt HP power supply with your existing HP: MB and case. But I need to know the specific HP product number.

I'm going to call in the cavalry for a second opinion.

@Bill_To,

Outstanding job: little to add, btw.

If it is the case (pun intended) that the OP wants to transfer the RenoR motherboard -which, as you observed uses a proprietary HP power supply and other HP-peculiar proprietary I/O cables to a so-called Gaming PC case, I would advise against that, because it is not going to "fit".  Or not without (much) effort. The OP might then as well purchase an Intel H670 or Z690 (Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.) chipset gaming motherboard, and transfer the processor, M.2 NVMe SSD and RAM.

Kind Regards,

Any thoughts on doing a HP 650 watt power supply?

I'm fuzzy on when the 650 watt PSU can work with certain HP proprietary cases and MBs.

Do we need to know the specific HP PC the OP has?

Regards

@Bill_To,

Yes, in order to be certain, we need to know the OP's PC model before we can recommend the 650-watt power supply with p/n: L57253-003 / L36049-003.

@mason00,

All right -thank you: as now confirmed, your HP ENVY DESKTOP TE01-4003W (9C9G5AA) is definitively fitted with the RenoR motherboard (SSID: 8B3B).

Yes, the 650-watt power supply with p/n: L57253-003 / L36049-003 is compatible with your system.
