I would like to upgrade my GPU

Hello there, 

 

I was wondering if i could upgrade my gpu and what i could upgrade it to, i have a thimphu motherboard and have a 500 watt power supply, i have a i7 6700 cpu with it aswell. it would be very much appreciated if someone could respond as i am clueless as to what i should buy.

Hi,

 

Open up your PC and look at the graphics card power connectors.  I suspect that you have two PCIe 6 pin power connectors or perhaps two 8 pin or one 8 and one 6 pin but you need to confirm what is provisioned from the power supply.

 

 

HP does have a 600 watt power supply for your cabinet so you should be able to go up to a NVIDIA GTX 1080 TI or an AMD RX 580r.

Without replacing the power supply, then consider this ZOTAC GTX 1080.

Are there any other cheaper options, im looking around the 300-400 pound range.

Greetings!

Go for an rx580 8gb version. You can find well priced products among the known names. Eg.: sapphire or asus if there is enough space in the case.
