I recently used the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics program and i tested the hdd and it failed on the short/long drive self-test with the error codes being 0U5XG3-9KA9T9-GXGJ2K-60V813 and 0U5XG3-9KA9T9-GXGJ2K-61DG13.

Yes, please contact HP in your country for a replacement. As a desktop, HP may ask you to send the HDD back first. Please follow the procedure otherwise your HDD would get lost in a jungle.
