HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000i (1K4J1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My computer came with (1)  installed m.2 internal SSD.   I would like to add a second internal m.2 SSD.

The slots for the m.2 internal SSD drives are stacked one above the other, which means the (2) m.2 internal SSD will be very close to one another.

What concerns me is that there may not be room enough for the heat to dissipate when both slots are used.  Anyone see a problem with filling up the slots?

hi

sorry, but you may be wrong
so far, motherboards equipped with two m2 ssd slots, which I have seen, were not so close
now, if i look according to the product number i see a motherboard model, and only one ssd slot!

One M.2 socket 3, Key M, (2280/2242)

the closest would therefore be that of the wifi card

You may be right, but I won't know until I open up the machine.

From HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2285t PC Product Specifications:

  • Two M.2 expansion slots
    • One M.2 socket 1, Key A
    • One M.2 socket 3, Key M, (2280/2242)

This manual entry was taken from the manual listed for my registered product (by serial number).

I didn't know how to open the box at the time, so I viewed the slot using a headlamp.  The 1T m.2 SSD drive was in the upper slot, at least it looked that way.  I have since found YouTube videos that showed how to open the box.  It looks simple now but the way it is put together I couldn't figure it out.  HP only has pictures and little text, so it wasn't clear to me how to do it without making an error and breaking something.

As soon as I open the box I'll get back to you.  If it is as the manual states it is and the drives are one over the other I'll post an image.  Otherwise the manual is wrong.

This the specs for my specific computer on the page for my registered product.

Thanks
