OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0024

I got a message about imminent failure for my SSD that came with the computer, so I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade to a much larger SSD (Samsung SSD 990 EVO Pro 4TB). I've tried everything I could find on Google, formatting it in disk management, updating drivers, and trying to change settings in the BIOS (I don't have access to advanced settings, so that was a short-lived attempt). No matter what I've done, BIOS doesn't read it, even though disk management can when I use a USB enclosure with the new SSD. I remember reading that the two would be compatible but I'm on my second day of trying to figure this out, and I feel like I'm losing my mind. Any help or guidance would so extremely appreciated!

Edit to add that I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows 11 which I created a bootable USB for.

@R_Mikala, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Reinsert the SSD

Power off the PC.

Remove and firmly reinsert the SSD — it must be fully seated.

Screw it in flat.

Update the BIOS

Go to HP’s website → search your model (GT13-0024).

Download and install the latest BIOS.

This can help the system recognize newer SSDs.

Change BIOS Settings

Boot into BIOS (press F10 when starting the PC).

Turn off Secure Boot.

Make sure UEFI mode is enabled.

If there's a “Legacy” option, try turning it on or off to test.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello

I downloaded and installed the latest BIOS as well as turned off secure boot and make sure it was in UEFI mode as well as took out and reinstalled new ssd and still no luck. There were a few different UEFI settings. It was UEFI 4, UEFI 6; and UEFI 4 + 6 but I wasn’t sure either one worked over the other.
